Our Partnerships:
Insight School of California - Los Angeles and Portable Practical Educational Preparation, Inc. (PPEP) unite expertise in online learning with cutting edge technology to provide a quality educational option for California families.
PPEP Inc.'s educational roots began in 1967 aboard an old Chevy school bus affectionately named La Tortuga (the Tortoise) by its first students that were Bracero migrant farm workers. Dr. John David Arnold was the teacher, driver, and mechanic. Over the years, thousands of students K-12 as well as adults have benefited by the Portable, Practical, Educational, and Preparation that make up its name. Its remarkable journey from the dusty rural roadways to the Super Information Highway has been documented 7 times in the US Congressional Record and on its web site www.PPEP.org. Included in these educational achievements are; pioneering the charter school movement (K-12 ) both brick and mortar (13 PPEP Tec Charter H.S.) as well as (two) virtual academies, plus extending adult education to the parents of disadvantaged students.
Antelope Valley Union High School District prides itself in providing a safe and secure environment where a diverse student population can develop the skills necessary to perform effectively in a technological, information-based society. With a focus on school-to-careers, the District strives to determine what skills are necessary for our students to master to be effective as adults. To this end, the District aggressively pursues continuous improvement in the structure of curriculum to reflect not only high academic standards but also relevancy to real-world application.
Insight Schools builds and operates statewide, full-time, diploma-granting, online public high schools in partnership with local school districts and community organizations, such as PPEP, a leading non-profit community development organization. Insight Schools' focus is to educate high-school-age youth who, for a variety of reasons, need an alternative to the traditional public high school experience. The Insight team consists of experienced educators and innovators who have run some of the largest online high school programs in the nation.
The PPEP and Insight teams share a passion for what a full-time, diploma-granting online high school can do for students for whom traditional high school is not a good fit. Insight School of California - Los Angeles draws from these shared beliefs and expertise to offer the best in high school online learning to students throughout L.A. and surrounding counties.
